Having performed thousands of TUBA surgeries, Dr. Driscoll can help you achieve beautiful, natural-looking results using this approach in comparison to other breast augmentation procedures. During the procedure, Dr. Driscoll will make an incision along the inner folds of the belly button, and a slender instrument is inserted through the navel area. This will be placed behind the breast tissue in order to guide a tissue expander; this instrument creates a pocket of space for the saline implant (silicone gel breast implants come pre-filled so they are not able to be inserted through the TUBA incision). He will sit the patient upright to make sure the size and location of the pocket is evenly placed. At this point, he recommends having a family member or friend in the operating room to provide input on the shape and size. Once the correct shape and size has been determined, Dr. Driscoll will remove the expanders and replace with saline implants.
Belly button breast augmentation offers no visible scarring, less pain, and easier recovery; most patients are back to work and/or normal activities within days after the procedure.
