Men and women who have sagging, loose skin in the neck and jowls, which causes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, may choose to correct signs of facial aging with facelift surgery (“rhytidectomy”). Peter V. Driscoll, M.D. is an Austin facelift surgeon who often performs this procedure for Round Rock and Killeen patients. If you are interested in a facelift, you can expect to feel comfortable in the relaxed, family-type atmosphere provided at Beverly Cosmetic Surgery Institute.
In order to attain the “natural” look, Dr. Driscoll restores the anatomy by not pulling on the skin. He approaches the facelift procedure by addressing the layer under the aging skin. An incision will be made in front of the ear and extends down and behind the ear, making it easily concealable behind hair. Excess fat is removed, facial muscles are tightened, and excess skin is trimmed. Individuals with minimal signs of aging, however, may be better suited for the mini facelift procedure (“mid facelift”).
Oftentimes, to achieve optimal results with a cosmetic "facelift, complementary procedures are recommended, such as chin augmentation and eyelid surgery (“blepharoplasty”). In addition, nose surgery (“rhinoplasty”) may be performed to correct a nose that droops due to aging. Facial injectables are also commonly combined with a facelift, which will fill in wrinkles and depressions along the upper portion of the face.
Before and after facelift surgery photos are available to view, which feature Dr. Driscoll’s patient results.
