Buttock enlargement surgery (“gluteal augmentation”) involves the surgical insertion of solid silicone implants into the buttocks in order to enhance the size and shape. Typically, candidates for this procedure are women who are unhappy with the size of their buttocks or want a more defined shape. Dr. Driscoll will perform this procedure by making an incision (about an inch long) right under the cheeks, where they meet the back of the thigh. He will insert the silicone implants either under the gluteus maximus muscle, or on top of the muscle, depending on what he deems most appropriate for each patient. Oftentimes, liposuction (“lipoplasty”) is performed in the hip and thigh area to accentuate the results from the buttocks enhancement procedure.
